By Tomeu Bordoy

the hotel factory continues growing, not only in new and interesting projects, but also regarding to its own team. In the last month two new promotions have been made among the staff who was already part of the team of the hotel factory

Therefore, as we usually do, we have asked the people who have received this promotion to tell us something more about themselves, not only their studies or professional experience, which you can always find information about with the rest of the team of the hotel factory at our website, but also more personal questions.

Today we would like to introduce you to Paloma Rodríguez Menor  our new senior consultant from our office in Madrid since last March.

NURITHF: Tell us a bit about yourself, a summary of how you got here.

After studying ADE in English at Carlos III University in Madrid and participating in various exchange programs (England, South Korea and China) I started working in 5* hotels. I was fortunate to work in several departments in different national and international hotel companies, which allowed me to know the know-how that they apply on a daily basis. With 2 and a half years of specialization in the Spanish luxury hotel I decided to make the leap to the hotel consulting, and ended up at the hotel factory.

THF: Now we come to the questions. What do you like the most about the hotel factory and which is the first word that comes to mind when we talk about the company?

That’s clear to me: specialization. With this I mean that we are a company highly specialized in hotel consulting, with huge experience in all areas of the sector and that helps us to have a global and critical vision in all our projects. On the other hand, we are very up to date with the latest trends in the hotel industry, constantly studying all current issues and innovations that are performed at an international level.

THF: How do you feel about your promotion to senior consultant?

It is a great (big) responsibility and I am very grateful to the partners and team leaders for giving to me this opportunity.

THF: Your greatest weakness, what can’t you resist?

To dance in all its forms … it is my great passion! Every afternoon that work allows me to, I escape to my dance academy to be carried away by the fantastic professionals who teach me rhythms from all over the world.

THF: With what do you disagree?

Injustices in any aspect of life.

THF: What do you like to do during your free time, do you practice any sport?

Other than of dancing, I really like to travel and learn languages. I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese, but in the past I have taken courses of Russian, Korean and Arabic.

THF: Books or films, coffee or tea, and why?

If I have time, first the book and then the movie. I always prefer books because you can enter the story with your imagination and you are a participant at all times. And drinking tea… as strange as it may seem, I do not like coffee.

Paloma
THF: Any secret you would like to share with us?

My secrets aren’t very exciting, really… jajaja

THF: What was your last trip?

I was in Cambodia in January with some friends, one of them is Cambodian. He invited us to know his country and he taught us the whole country from a local point of view: we ate and slept in the homes of his friends and family, we learned Khmer to communicate with people and even went to a traditional Cambodian wedding. It is an incredible country with a recent history very present in the current culture.

THF: Something that scares you.

This is a real secret: I am very afraid of certain insects, to the point of panicking if I see one!

THF: How do you get energy for your day to day life?

My office friends know this well … a lot of tea in the early hours of the day! It also helps to have daily goals and to reconcile my professional and personal life, it helps me to do everything at 100%.

THF: What would you say to yourself 5 years ago?

That she should never stop asking questions. My insatiable curiosity is what has taken me to where I am today and thanks to it I have always learned more than I had established. But I would not change anything I’ve done, so I would not say too much…

And here ends our little interview. If you want to know more about her and the rest of the team members of the hotel factory, don’t hesitate to visit the team tab on our website or look for us on LinkedIn where you can also find latest news of the hotel sector.
