By Adela Herrero Buendía

We are continuously working in order to bring value and provide new ideas to our clients. For that reason we are always trying to recruit the best talent, both internationally and nationally.

In the factory hotel we always have candidates who come to our company to do internships relating to their degree of studies or university master thanks to the various university agreements that we have signed with universities throughout the Spanish territory as well as internationally.

Today we would like to introduce you Elise El Nouchi, recent graduate from a Bachelor in International Relations who has just started her internship with us in our office in Madrid.

THF: Tell us a little bit more about yourself.

I was born in Palma de Mallorca. I studied the Tourism degree at the University of Balearic Islands. During this period, I received an Erasmus+ scholarship to study a semester at the University of Lapland (Finland) and had the opportunity of doing my internship at the hotel Be Live Collection Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). I am currently in the last year of the Business Administration degree, also at the UIB.

THF: ¿What do you like the most about Mallorca?

I believe that those who live in Mallorca are privileged. Mallorca is always associated to summer and beach, but the truth is that it offers a lot of plans at any time of the year: from getting lost in the streets of Palma or hiking in the Serra de Tramuntana, to spending a day on some paradisiacal beach. Our island has a lot of corners that are worthwhile and some that even those who live here do not know.

THF: ¿How do you feel about today’s’ tourism?

The tourism sector is constantly changing and, therefore, requires being up to date with all innovations that arise in order to adapt the offer in the best possible way.

In addition, it is the main economic sector in the Balearic Islands and, for this reason, we must continue to bet on it. Not only by boosting its growth, but also taking care of it, transforming it into a sustainable and responsible model to ensure its success in the future.

THF: How did you come to know about the hotel factory? What caught your attention?

I met the hotel factory through the university internship bag. What attracted me the most was seeing that it is a company that perfectly matches what I studied. Also, after knowing what services they offer, I found it even more interesting, as I would be able to participate in projects that are so diverse and so complete.

THF: Now that you have seen first hand the kind of work that we do here, is it what you expected of a hotel consultant?

I did not know how working at a hotel consultant would be, but what I did not expect was that, in less than a month, it would have exceeded my expectations. I feel so satisfied and thankful because I have been already able to participate in the development of projects, which has made me feel valued by my colleagues from the moment I arrived.

THF: What do you like the most about this job?

One of the things I like most about this job is that it’s very dynamic. As each project is different from the previous one, we are constantly learning, which is very enriching. Also, from what I have seen so far, I am convinced that it will be very pleasant to see how a project to which we dedicate so much time and effort is growing and developing until its implementation.

However, what I definitely like the most about the hotel factory is the work environment. I think it is the clear example of what it means to work as a team, which makes the day-to-day at the office very enjoyable.

THF: What type of projects have you worked on during your months with us? Do find them interesting?

I have been working on two conceptualization projects. In the first one, we have finished developing the buyer persona of our client, for which we have researched and analyzed many tourist profiles. In the second one, we have just presented a proposal that has involved us analyzing data of the destination and the competence of our client’s hotel. As I mentioned before, being able to participate in different projects makes us constantly learn from all of them and all their phases.

THF: What you would say to all the students who want to work as an intern? What reasons would you give for them to choose the hotel factory?

I would recommend that, as far as possible, they choose a company in which they are interested. In the end, internships are an opportunity to start training and enter in the labour market, so I think it is important to choose a firm whose sector attracts them.

To those who like team work, interested in the tourism sector, strict to themselves and want to work in a young and dynamic environment, the hotel factory is the best option they could consider. Furthermore, I am convinced that it will provide them the knowledge and experience they need to focus on their labour future.
