the hotel factory is not only carrying out new projects, but also more and more agreements are signed with universities throughout the Spanish territory as well as internationally to welcome students of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree who wish to do their internships, whether curricular or extracurricular, in a company like ours.
For this reason, and after signing with San Pablo CEU University, today we will introduce you to Pablo Oberhofer Gil; a Double Degree student in Business Administration and Marketing and the first of which we hope will be a long list of students of this university who want to do their internships with us.
Now, as usual, we have asked him to answer a couple of questions and tell us more about him, his studies, his experience with us, etc.
THF: Tell us a little bit more about yourself. Where are you from? What are you studying?
I was born in Innsbruck (Austria), but I have been living almost all my life in Spain. Currently, I’m a fourth-year student in Business Management and Marketing at CEU San Pablo University. Additionally, I’ve spent this full academic year studying at Boston University (Massachusetts, US) and last year I had the opportunity of being an exchange student at Leopold-Franzens Universität (Innsbruck, Austria).
THF: Why did you decide to study this? What’s your take on the current tourism industry?
I consider that tourism is a fundamental pillar in the economy of a country since the 60s, and that is why it has to be promoted and improved. In addition, I believe that it is going through a phase of modernization and it is very interesting to work in hotel consultancy, to assist companies to adapt to these changes.
THF: How did you come to know about the hotel factory? What caught your attention?
I discovered the hotel factory when I was looking for an internship at a consultancy firm that is related to tourism in Spain. After making some research, what really caught my attention is the amount of international projects that they have carried out and the diversity of the team.
THF: What was your impression when you met us for the first time during the interview?
As I was studying in Boston, they gave me the opportunity to carry out the interview through Skype. I realized that the hotel factory is a very competitive company, which was looking for an international, analytical candidate with knowledge of the sector.
THF: Now that you have seen first hand the kind of work that we do here, is it what you expected of a hotel consultant?
I didn’t have much knowledge about hotel consultancy and I expected to carry out basic tasks. Fortunately, it has been completely the opposite. Since the first week I had the opportunity of working actively in all parts of the project, which has enhanced my learning.
THF: What do you like the most about this job?
What I like the most of doing my internship at the hotel factory is that it involves working in an dynamic environment, where constantly new challenges arise. In addition, I was surprised that since the beginning I have been entrusted with several responsibilities and I have had the constant support of all my colleagues.
THF: What type of projects have you worked on during your months with us? Do find them interesting?
Certainly, the hotel factory has a diverse portfolio of projects, both nationally and internationally.
THF: What you would say to all the students who want to work as an intern? What reasons would you give for them to choose the hotel factory?
I certainly recommend the hotel factory to all students that are seeking an internship position. They will have the opportunity to join a young, international and talented team, with many growth perspectives.
