the hotel factory continues growing, not only in new and interesting projects, but also regarding its own team. We always have candidates who come to our company to do internships of their degree studies or university master thanks to the various university agreements that we have signed with universities throughout the Spanish territory as well as internationally.
Therefore, as we usually do, we have asked the people who are doing their internships with us to tell us something more about themselves, their studies and their experience with us.
Today we introduce you to Bernat Pi Planas; student of Law and Business Administration at the University of Balearic Islands and who has made his internship with us since last June.
THF: Tell us a little bit more about yourself. Where are you from? What are you studying?
I was born in Palma de Mallorca 21 years ago and I consider myself really majorcan. Now I’m studying Business Administration and Law in the UIB (University of Balearic Islands)
THF: Why did you decide to study this?
At the beginning, my first options were Business Administration, Law and Tourism. But later the University started to offer the possibility to study Business Administration and Law at the same time, so I didn’t think twice about it and decided to go for it.
THF: How did you come to know about the hotel factory? What caught your attention?
I met the hotel factory at the University. There it took place its 11th Occupation Forum and THF was present. Bartolome explained to me what THF is about and it quickly attracted to me.
THF: What was your impression when you met us for the first time during the interview?
I had already checked the website of the hotel factory at home, so I had an overall idea. However, when I just arrived, I was fascinated with the leading edge equipment the office had, combined with a professional team. I couldn’t have a better introduction. Besides, It really surprised me the respect and spontaneity Bernat, Nuri and Toni showed me during the interview.
THF: Now that you have seen first hand the kind of work that we do here, is it what you expected of a hotel consultant?
No, it definitely wasn’t. I thought a hotel consultant was quite monotonous in terms of work and a bit unfashionable. Nevertheless, while working here I have found a big diversity of projects wrapped by a 2.0 atmosphere, where all information flows through new technology.
THF: What do you like the most about this job and what will you miss the most?
What I like most about the hotel factory is the advantage they took of teamwork. I think doing a motivating work with an excellent group of people accompanied with a high quality equipment is wonderful.
THF: What type of projects have you worked on during your months with us? Do find them interesting?
I’ve been working on several projects like repositioning hotels, enhancing online reputation of hotels or the convenience of changing a hotel category. Indeed, I’ve learned so much that I have even written a post in the website.
Absolutely, those projects have provided me a lot of profitable knowledge which will be useful for facing next projects in the future.
THF: What you would say to all the students who want to work as an intern? What reasons would you give for them to choose the factory hotel?
Don’t miss the opportunity to work here, because experience is the best asset you can get nowadays, and this is something you get since the first day in the hotel factory.
