the hotel factory continues growing, not only in new and interesting projects, but also regarding its own team. We always have candidates who come to our company to do internships of their degree studies or university master thanks to the various university agreements that we have signed with universities throughout the Spanish territory as well as internationally.
Therefore, as we usually do, we have asked the people who are doing their internships with us to tell us something more about themselves, their studies and their experience with us.
Today we introduce to you Adela Herrero Buendía; a Business Management student in the Balearic Islands University and that she just started her internship with us.
THF: Tell us a little bit more about yourself. Where are you from? What are you studying?
I am a twenty-two-year-old student of Business Management born in Palma de Mallorca. Currently, I am in the fourth year of study at the University of the Balearic Islands.
THF: Why did you decide to study this?
I chose Business Administration at the age of 16, when I take the subject of Business Economics at the Institute. When I finished that subject, I was so enthusiastic about the theory that I wanted to delve into many of the aspects.
After three years studying Business Management, I decided that, in the future, I will be focusing on Tourism Management as it is a growing sector, especially in the Balearic Islands.
THF: How did you come to know about the hotel factory? What caught your attention?
I came across with the hotel factory through an internship offer advertised on DOIP webpage. From there, I investigated about the company’s activity and what most caught my attention was the large number of successful projects developed, both national and international.
THF: What was your impression when you met us for the first time during the interview?
First of all, the office atmosphere was so warm and friendly. I was surprised with the concept of open-plan office, which makes easier communication between different hierarchies. On the other hand, the interviewers were very close, making me feel comfortable and helping me to reduce the nerves of the moment.
THF: Now that you have seen first hand the kind of work that we do here, is it what you expected of a hotel consultant?
Before beginning my work as an intern, I made a research about the activities that are normally carried out in a hotel consultant. But now that I have made my first contact, I can affirm that the work is much more extensive.
THF: What do you like the most about this job?
What I really appreciate is that this job teaches me something new every day and I also can learn from the large number of professionals that work at the hotel factory.
As well, I love the fact that I can contribute to the project with my own ideas and it helps me to develop my creativity.
THF: Do you find interesting the projects that we make in the hotel factory?
Yes, a lot. There are a lot of varied projects and I admire the ability of the hotel factory to carry out all of them successfully focusing on the innovation.
THF: What you would say to all the students who want to work as an intern? What reasons would you give for them to choose the hotel factory?
Working as an intern is the first contact of students with the real world work. That can be a little bit difficult but it’s also an experience that helps and teaches you a lot. In the hotel factory you will be supported by a lot of professionals who will help you to learn and advance your professional development. In addition, there’s an incredible team which will make you feel that you take part from the company until the first day.
