After the full restoration of the Nakar building, property owned by the Ramis family and in collaboration with the consultancy firm the hotel factory, the new Nakar Hotel opened its doors last july as a 4 star superior hotel with a new and differentiating concept. A modern hotel that blends avant-garde design and sense of place with elements from the balearic environment, located in the heart of the historical centre of Palma de Mallorca, in the Jaime III avenue.
The hotel is located in one of the busiest and most centric streets in the centre of Palma, the Jaime III avenue; close to the shopping area with big name brands, good restaurants and cocktail bars, art galleries and museums such as Es Baluard.
Under the seal of Design Hotels, the Nakar hotel offers 57 rooms with a great interior design inspired by the mediterranean, designed by the majorcan artist Marga Rotger. Everything was built with materials from the balearic environment, such as: oak, stone, black lacquered iron and glass, providing a feeling of warmth, well-being and relax throughout the stay of the guests.
Posterior to the market research carried out, regarding the current hotel accommodation offer in Palma, and the conceptualization study, the new hotel product is characterized by its design focused on a modern traveller that loves technology, comfort, silence, well-being, service, design and the care for small details. Providing guests with a free powerful wifi connection, a modern Smart TV system with which the guest can do screen mirroring with their smartphones or tablets to view and play their pictures, videos and audio; other than this the rooms also have a presence detector that turns the lights off when guests leave, or to graduate the lighting through a home automation system with the possibility of choosing various sceneries. All this is focused on serving the most demanding guests that wish to live an unforgettable experience.
In the gastronomical department, the hotel has the “CUIT” bar and restaurant, situated on the 8th floor run by the majorcan cook Miquel Calent. From this magnificent position there is a panoramic view of the historical center of the city, the cathedral, the Bellver castle and the bay of Palma, views that can be enjoyed while tasting a menu inspired in the majorcan gastronomical tradition, elaborated using local and sustainable products that the earth provides every season of the year.
But the magical place of the hotel is situated on the top floor, where we are able to find a spectacular terrace with a 12 metre long pool and a solarium with hammocks for the delight of customers. A rooftop to view magnificent sunsets of the bay of Palma, taste cocktails or combined drinks and enjoy the music played by the DJ’s.
At the hotel factory, many repositioning and conceptualization projects have been carried out. In these projects, the characteristics of the destination are analyzed, as well as the mix of compatible segments, the most valued attributes by the chosen segment, the competitive set of the hotel and the differentiating strategies followed, other than a feasibility analysis of the new concept. All this with the aim of launching a successful new hotelier product in the market.
