In the factory hotel we <\/span>always have candidates who come to our company to do internships relating to their degree of studies or university master thanks to the various university agreements that we have signed with universities throughout the Spanish territory as well as internationally<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today we would like to introduce you Elise El Nouchi, recent graduate from a Bachelor in International Relations who has just started her internship with us in our office in Madrid.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>THF: Tell us a little bit more about yourself.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

My name is Elise El Nouchi, I am french and I recently graduated from a Bachelor in International Relations at IE University in Madrid. I am a very curious person who loves learning and discovering new facts, data and pieces of information, especially when they are related to the international sector. I am passionate about languages and international development and aim at having a real impact through every action and decision that I take. My purpose in life is to use my strong ideas to become an advocate for international development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THF: \u00bfHow do you feel about today’s\u2019 tourism?<\/b><\/p>\n

The 21st century is a very particular period in terms of international dynamics. Indeed, the world is experiencing many changes and new international dynamics. From my point of view, the touristic sector is the embodiment of these dynamics since it is constantly being impacted and influenced by international phenomena such as global warming and migration flows. For this reason, I believe that it is particularly important to understand the dynamics at stake in the international tourism sector to get a clear idea of the world we are living in. More specifically, the touristic sector as been growing at a very fast pace over the last years, which is why it has the potential to become a channel for change and development promotion in the future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

THF: How did you come to know about the hotel factory? What caught your attention?<\/b><\/p>\n

I learned about this internship opportunity at <\/span>the hotel factory<\/span><\/i> through the Career portal of my University. The offer caught my attention for two main reasons:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First, having graduated from a bachelor\u2019s degree in international relations I have always been very interested by the international dynamics related to the international tourism sector. Second, I was very curious to discover what consulting was in a concrete and professional way and wanted to have the chance to interact with clients and work on concrete projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THF: Now that you have seen first hand the kind of work that we do here, is it what you expected of a hotel consultant?<\/b><\/p>\n

I had very little knowledge and past experience of the work of a consultancy firm before starting my internship. Thus, I was surprised in many ways when working as an analyst at <\/span>the hotel factory.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First, I got the chance to discover the different project development phases, from market research to the creation of an investment memorandum, going through a variety of tasks such as conceptualization or budget study and asset management. I would never have expected that behind a project you would have such an important amount of tasks and I have learned a lot from being involved in the development of the various steps of these projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also,\u00a0 I got the opportunity to discover what working and interacting directly with clients was as well as the various challenges that one has to face when collaborating with clients in terms of deadlines, getting information, decide on the next steps of each project and produce final materials. Namely, having to plan with clients the next steps of their project was particularly interesting to me since it involved negotiations and deciding on future orientations in a strategic manner.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, I participated to various meetings with clients in order to provide them with the final deliverables and present the product of our work. I really love this step since it represents the last stop,\u00a0 the final dot embodying the energy and work invested during weeks. Each time it gives me a very satisfactory feeling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THF: What do you like the most about this job?<\/b><\/p>\n

What I like the most about this position is that I learn everyday by doing very various tasks and that I never stop discovering new aspects of the job, which is a very big motivation when developing a specific project. I fervently believe the most important is that I don\u2019t only learn by myself, but I also learn from the people I work with. Thanks to the support of my team partners and following their advices I am growing each day as an analyst and member of the <\/span>the hotel factory<\/span><\/i> team. These group dynamics are so unique that they increase your productivity at work and your overall happiness and I consider it is the most special attribute of this company.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THF: What type of projects have you worked on during your months with us? Do find them interesting?<\/b><\/p>\n

Since I started working at <\/span>the hotel factory, <\/span><\/i>I have had the chance to work on a luxury asset full diagnostic, from commercial to operational and economic diagnostic, in Spain. While working on this project, I was involved in a broad range of tasks corresponding to the many steps of the project, which permitted me to discover in depth the work of a consultancy firm in the tourism sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In addition to this project, I was involved in two important international projects. The second one is the one I am currently working on and for sure the one from which I learned the most. Indeed, I have been part of the project since its start and will be responsible of closing it with my team. As a consequence, I saw the project grow step by step and I have been part of the orientation decisions each time. This project is a marketing plan for five hotels in Dubai. The main aspect of the project is the coordination with the various properties in order to organize as well as classify the information they have and create the most complete and straightforward presentation for the properties. Our work includes external and internal analysis, objectives and strategies and the development of concrete marketing actions and their budgeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last, I was punctually involved in specific phases of shorter-term projects, helping with translations, market research or conceptualization for instance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THF: What you would say to all the students who want to work as an intern? What reasons would you give for them to choose the hotel factory?<\/b><\/p>\n

I would surely recommend them to consider all the options that they have, to always wonder what they look for, what they expect from an internship experience, what they aim for. If these students are motivated, hard-working, curious, and wish to develop their professional experience in a young environment; having the opportunity to do a broad variety of tasks, work in team, being completely involved in concrete projects and develop relationships with clients; then I would for sure recommend <\/span>the hotel factory<\/span><\/i> experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
