Investors are showing high interest in both destinations, either to invest or to sign management contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, Canary Islands is a 12 month destination, that doesn\u2019t understand seasonality and that has always been one of the most valued destinations by the main european markets. Therefore, it is a consolidated and more than profitable destination, always interesting when looking for investment opportunities<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within the Canary Islands, as in all destinations, there are a number of areas that are more valued than others. In this case, the areas that are of special interest are: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Tenerife (Costa Adeje and Arona)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Gran Canaria (Meloneras, Maspalomas)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lanzarote (Playa Blanca)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South Fuerteventura (Jand\u00eda)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A few of the main investors that have valued Canary Islands as a target destination and that have carried out any investment in the last years are: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Schauinsland-Reisen. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have recently closed a purchasing deal of two establishments in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura, specifically the Hotel R2 R\u00edo Calma (4*, 416 Rooms) and the apartment complex Maryvent (4*, 45 apartments). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Source: Turinews)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Alua Hotels &amp; Resorts, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the holiday hotel chain backed by the alternative assets promoter Alchemy Special Opportunities, has extended its portfolio purchasing the following hotels:<\/span><b> \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ambar Beach<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Fuerteventura (4*, 244 rooms), the first Alua hotel in the Canary Islands and the 7th \u00a0hotel opened by the firm. Their objective is to adapt the property to the standards of AluaVillage, one of the three sub-brands of the group focused in the holiday segment. The chains 8th hotel, which will be renamed and repositioned under the Brand AluaSun, focusing on the general public. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Source: Preferente)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>HI Partners, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the investment and hotel management company from Banco Sabadell, that remains steady in its aim to become one of the main agents of the spanish hotel industry, has recently acquired:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>IFA Catarina hotel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Gran Canaria (4*, 402 rooms), which will undergo a full renovation in which they plan to invest more than 7 million euros. (Source: Hosteltur)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>FTI Group, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">purchased through their hotel brand <\/span><b>Labranda Hotels &amp; Resorts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the renowned <\/span><b>Stella Canaris Resort<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Fuerteventura, the largest hotel complex in the Canary Islands, with more than 600.000 square metres, that remained closed since 2013. The project is aimed to create a Labranda World, that encompasses up to 8 hotels of 4-5 stars, with more than 2.000 rooms. Their aim is to join this hotel with the Barcel\u00f3 Lanzarote Hotel to create a large resort of 800 rooms, that will be operated by Barcel\u00f3. With this acquisition, Hispania surpasses exceeds 10.400 rooms, being the largest hotel owner in Spain that doesn\u2019t manage its hotels. (Source: Hosteltur)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, Hispania has purchased for 75 M\u20ac (63.398\u20ac\/room) <\/span><b>Dunas Hotels &amp; Resorts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that owned up to 1.183 rooms distributed in 4 hotels: Dunas Don Gregory (4*), Dunas Suites &amp; Villas (4*), Dunas Maspalomas (4*) and Dunas Mirador (3*), located in Gran Canaria. Although, the properties will remain to be managed by the actual partners of Dunas Hotels &amp; Resorts. The Sandos Group will continue to manage the establishment until 2020. (Source: HVS)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, Hispania also purchased in 2015, the \u00a0<\/span><b>Gran Hotel Atlantis Bah\u00eda Real<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (5*GL, 242 rooms) and the <\/span><b>Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (4*, 383 rooms), both in Fuerteventura, with a single operation for an amount of 105 M \u20ac (168.000\u20ac\/ room), keeping the Atlantis Group as operator of both hotels. These seven hotels are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ona Bena Vista<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Estepona, M\u00e1laga;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ona El Marqu\u00e9s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (124 rooms) and <\/span><b>Ona Las Rosa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s (101 rooms) in Los Gigantes, Tenerife;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ona Sue\u00f1o Azul<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (31 rooms) in Callao Salvaje, Tenerife;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ona Los Claveles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (105 rooms) in Los Cristianos, Tenerife;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ona Las Casitas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (48 rooms) and Ona Las Brisas (140 rooms) in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. The hotel assets were purchased by a joint venture (80% subsidiary controlled by Starwood Capital Group \u00a0and 20% by Meli\u00e0 Hotels International) and will remain under the management of Meli\u00e0 Hotels.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The assets located in the Canary Islands are:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Meli\u00e1 Gorriones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in Fuerteventura (4*, 418 rooms)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Sol Lanzarote<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (4*, 222 rooms).
